RULES AND REGULATIONS:

 Food Service Rules and Regulations (511-6-1)  Effective 11/1/2015, Revised 2/24/23 to reflect changes as it relates to the authorization of mobile food service establishments from HB1443, to reflect changes to the definition of “Food Service Establishment” from SB 345, 9/17/18 to add a provision for “pop-up” restaurants, and 10/21/18 to reflect changes in catering operations to accommodate the motion picture industry.

NEW FOOD SERVICES:

What do I need to do prior to opening a Food Service? (Including but not limited to the following):

Submit at least fourteen (14) days prior to beginning construction/remodeling:

• Food Service Application
• (Fee Schedule)
• Copy of Proposed Menu
• Set of plans for new establishments or kitchen diagram for existing establishments

• Verification of Residency – revised April 2014 (In accordance with the Georgia Department of Public Health, Alien Residency Verification Policy (Policy# GC-090008))
  • **Please note, all individuals or corporations who obtain a permit (i.e. food service, swimming pools, body art) from DPH requires completion of secure and verifiable information to verify citizenship/immigration status.
    In accordance with O.C.G.A. Section 50-36-1(e)(2) Secure and Verifiable Documents Under O.C.G.A. § 50-36-2
