Adolescent Health & Youth Development
Mission
To ensure that all youth receive medically accurate and appropriate risk reduction education and information so they will be able to make healthy decisions about their future. To provide youth development opportunities that build skills, knowledge and personal attributes to prepare all youth to become healthy, educated, employable and connected to their community.
Prevention Services in Bartow & Floyd Counties: Adolescent Health and Youth Development (AHYD) Program services are available (at no cost).
- Evidence-based risk reduction health education
- Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) prevention education
- School/Community Presentations: Programs can be designed to meet the specific needs of the requesting school or agency (bullying, hygiene, healthy relationships, drugs & alcohol, etc.)
- Parent Education workshops on how to talk with teens: pregnancy & STI prevention, healthy relationships, drugs & alcohol, etc.
- Leadership Through Life Skills
- Teen Maze
- Bartow and Floyd Youth Action Teams
- Provide prevention and health education materials: posters, handouts, brochures, etc.
- Youth Serving Organization trainings
- Mentor trainings
- Karate Outreach Program (Floyd County only)
